My Life in Autumn

A walk down memory lane. One of the first poems I ever wrote.

In the autumn of my life

I will always remember

the moments that gave me joy

and friendships that I treasured.

I will see a little clearer

the air will seem much sweeter

the sky a little bluer

in the autumn of my life.

In the autumn of my life

I will think of all the good times

not dwell on past mistakes  

or troubles I have seen.

I will love a little deeper

sing a little louder

forgive a whole lot better

in the autumn of my life.

In the autumn of my life 

I will know what really matters

what truly makes me happy

and accept what I can’t change.

I will embrace my friends and family

let them know how much I love them

and hold on a little longer

time and experiences absolutely can teach us some very fine things ...we acquire a jeweled armor that isn't so much impenetrable as comforting assurance ...seems i have been (in my life review) seeing too much of mistakes lately ..thanks for the wake up ..we have the choice on what we dwell .. really appreciate how your poem speaks to me this morning
