![]() In Her EyesA Poem by DaraWith a look she could
stop us in our tracks for awhile, showing the hint of a twinkle when hiding a smile. Usually green like
the sea, her eyes sometimes seemed blue. Like a chameleon they could change as she looked at you.
In her eyes we were everything she ever really wanted. And we knew she would be there and be someone we could count on. She attended each
performance, at games our biggest fan and if anyone tried
to hurt us she would always take a stand.
But her eyes, big as saucers which top her tiny frame, that once missed nothing as she called out our names are little use to her now her vision is going while my love for my mother is continually growing. © 2019 DaraAuthor's Note
