Remember Me

Remember Me

A Poem by Dara

When you see the trees

remember me

as they shade you there

with their broad green leaves.

When you feel the rain

let it cool your skin

and think of me

as I was back then.

When you see the stars

in the bright night sky

make a wish

as you close your eyes.

A wish to keep

what we had found,

a love that was real

and so profound.

How very nice this was, I really enjoyed it. I see some similarities in the way you write, somewhat close to the way I write. Your poems seem personal, those kind of poems I like reading the best. Well done Dara for your remembrance for this person.

Noel Coward....English High Society and so poised. Did you know he worked for England's Secret Service in WWII? He must have been as suave as James Bond. Quite the tribute write here, Dara. The words flow so easily and the rhyming is great. Lydi**

Beautiful! Very moving. Now my first attempt at a suggestion. :)

I guess more so, how I would have liked to read it or of written it myself.

Regardless it is a wonderful piece!!

"A wish to keep
what we had found
a love that was real
a love so profound."

Personally i'm just trying to get away from the and's and I's. :)

I really don't like to repeat a word so close together, but here it just fits and makes the ending more powerful.

What do you think?
