The build up... static, scents, winds roaring
Nature's emotions coming to a head
The sounds, sights, senses soaring
A good storm sets my fur on end!
A rare thing for me living in the dessert.
Thank you Dara for the images your pen always seems to find

You perfectly combined the dark side of a storm with it's lighter perspective. Good work Dara.

A rain storm must be one of nature's events that speaks to something primordial inside of us, similar to standing at the edge of a mighty ocean. Awesome in its power, it can stir a sense of exultation within. As your work often does, the title made me remember an old song. Very fine writing, Dara.

It is so much like standing by the ocean and feeling the power behind it. Thank you for this wonderful review, Sam! And yes, you are right, I think the song may have been one that Neil Diamond recorded, "I Think It's Going to Rain Today." That seems to happen to me alot :-D

Dara Dara Dara,
I could literally smell the wet earth and the air pregnant with moisture.
The true success of a poem is when it takes the reader into the world it endeavours to describe.
Fantastic poem.
It is said that the poet and singer Tansen, sang the "Rain Song" in the court of Emperor Akbar, and it indeed did start to rain.
I read your poem aloud, and within minutes the dark clouds coalesced, and water poured and poured from the heavens. It is still raining.
A powerful poem.
