Lost in the Moment

Lost in the Moment

A Poem by Dara

In her mind she saw them

walking on the sand

their faces reflecting the setting sun

touching fingers, holding hands.

She would gently lean against him

her cheek resting on his chest

and  with baited breath

her body would ache

for the touch of his sweet caress.

She would raise her head

and he’d softly kiss her

their hearts  beating fast

both lost in the moment

wishing it would last.

Indeed.... :D
i feel serene and warm reading your poem .. very clever .. making use of the pic as an integral part of the story .. leaves me with an ending of my own choosing .. could be someone dreaming of the love of their own .. or lamenting the loss of one .. or both together ;) very smooth .. the language is simple an eloquent .. enjoyed reading

This was a lovely write Dara, very tender and touching. A soft and smooth flowing poem but loud and clear of the longing for that person.

Very sweet and romantic, with the last line adding a bit of sad realism to the scene. There are some wonderful things in life that we hope will last forever, like strolling on the beach with your love, but sometimes there's an attached expiration date. Savoring the moment is best, methinks.
