Beyond Rainbow Bridge

Open wide Heaven’s gate

soaring high above the clouds,

the souls of children free in flight

among angelic crowds.

Hand in hand, soul to soul

they soar ever higher

 

far beyond the Rainbow Bridge

on golden wings of fire.

With strength of heart

their spirits light,

they test their angel wings

and leave their old world far behind

a new life to begin.

For me, and I think for many others, that unthinkable event is an unhealed wound that still causes enormous pain. Indeed, I do hope they're soaring beyond the rainbow bridge on golden wings of fire. I wrote a little thing in remembrance of that, too.
