![]() If Not My DaughterA Poem by Dara![]()
We sit and drink a glass of wine or share a meal from time to time. You listen to me and I listen to you I could be your friend or mother too. Just like Naomi after Ruth had sought her, what are you to me, if not my daughter?
We are similar in different ways seeing the world through a purple haze. A teacher of children with special needs and a therapist who listens to all their pleas. I wanted to be one or the other. What are you then, if not my daughter?
I thank God a thousand times that he arranged for you my son’s wife to be. You must know by now you were Heaven sent and that on His knowledge we can depend. It was in the stars we would find one another. What then are you, if not my daughter?
