Pretty Baby

Pretty Baby

A Poem by Dara

Baby’s hair and baby’s skin

soft and smooth like

lanolin.

Baby’s eyes and baby’s nose

look like mama’s

I suppose.

Baby’s ears and baby’s curls

make you daddy’s

little girl.

I love your eyes and baby smile

please stay a baby

for awhile.

This poem was written so well. It actually makes me excited to have a child of my own one day. Thanks for posting! (:

P.S. Would you mind checking out my novel, HIM? Before sending it off for publishing, I'd love it if I could have as much constructive criticism as possible. (:

Hi Dara. Isn't it just so sad when they grow up!!! Not that we love them any less, just in a different way. loved the cuddly warmth of this poem. Could almost smell the talc and lanolin!!! alf

And I shall be back!!!!
Heh-heh--yes, if they only could. I'm lucky to get a hug these days, but boy, did I used to get them. Oh, well, such is life. At least we have our memories.

Thank goodness for memories and video cameras :-) Nice to see you Samuel!
If only we could keep them as babies a little longer. This is a sweet write.

Yes, they grow up and then leave the nest much too quickly! Thanks so much.
