The Final ChapterA Poem by DaraA woman's thoughts after her lover has died.Your life was a ‘train wreck’ you often said. But your loving words brought peace to my soul. Living on ‘a knife’s edge’ you still managed to laugh and smiled at my childlike innocence as though you were the grocery boy and I the young girl smiling up at you with a swishy skirt. We spoke, we wrote, we shared secrets and often joked. At times we disagreed but never with the intent to
hurt or damage the others spirit. You were my mentor, my friend, my lover. How can I go on? There will never be another.
And when my time comes around and I am laid in the cold dark ground I will look for you on the other side and join you as your heavenly bride.
