My Wild Woman

My Wild Woman

A Poem by Dara

Awakened by the stirring

of my restless spirit

she boldly leaps

out of  the chambers of my mind

causing havoc

in her wake.

My Wild Woman

keeper of my soul
yearns to see daylight

after years of hiding

in the shadows

of a midnight sun.

She relishes the freedom

of these bold new thoughts

and forcefully hurls

the shackles of guilt away

like a hand grenade

ready to explode.

She is my mentor

my spirit guide

and lifts me up

until I soar above

the clouds of my

oppression.

Hi Dara. Loved this take on the book!! Your words are so authentic, that I could believe this was you own inner thoughts leaping from the page. I am unable to separate any part of any stanza to hightlight in this poem. they flow together and make a whole that creates an amazing read. Keep writing, amd loving your work!! alf

A stirring and encouraging poem, dear Dara.

Not scary at all.
Perhaps every woman should run with wolves before dealing with men.
