A Lullaby for MarieA Poem by DaraI posted this poem that I wrote for my daughter a few months ago but made a few changes. The evening wind whispers a haunting tune as clouds drift lazily past the moon. The owl hoots and the nightingale sings to a chorus of crickets and toads and things. Sweet babe close your eyes there is nothing to fear, your mama will rock you to sleep my dear. The dream catcher knows just what to do to guard you from thoughts that might frighten you. It hangs over your bed like a trusty old friend, your hopes and your dreams it vows to defend. So close your eyes now let sleep come to pass the day is at end and nighttime won’t last.
