The First Snowfall

The First Snowfall

A Poem by Dara

Soft as Eider down,

 snowflakes

gently cascade

like frozen stars

 pillowing

the ground.

The proud old oaks,

coated in ice and snow,

shimmer with delight

and give their blessing

 to Mother Nature’s

work below.

radiant snow scene

Thank you Kelly. So good to see you again :-)
I need to put more focus on your poetry I think. sometime we get too focused on our own work and the talent of others flies over our head. A short and very sweet poem. It'z raining here in Fremantle Australia, the first drops in 6 months; cool and romantic. It conjures up images of glistening droplets on the petals of the rose in your secret garden. Keep posting

Ah, I lived in Canada once. It would get so cold the tips of the cats' ears would freeze up.
