Double Chocolate IcecreamA Poem by OnceUponATimeWriterLike a powdered kiss, It teases as it melts on your tongue,Dark as night, soft as clay, It ensnares every sense you hold, Sweet as honey, deadly as
poison, Utterly, enchantingly cold. Never enough to satisfy the
want, Only to increase the need, The sugary smell of your
deepest dreams, The taste of un-doubtable
greed. Like a powdered kiss, It teases as it melts on your
tongue, Like the forbidden fruit, To it you have desperately
clung. A swirl of pleasure, As two flavours collide, The black and the white, Both forever allied. But you know it’s no good for
you, You know that it is wrong, Yet you can’t help it, You have never been that
strong. The rich thick texture, Of the smooth subtle taste, Your heart lightens, A sensation that is rarely
replaced. It can give you what nothing
else can, The feeling in your chest, It blocks out the rest of the
world, And you never ever protest. It is as dark as night and
deadly as poison, But it you will always crave,
Double chocolate ice-cream, To it, you are a mere slave. © 2012 OnceUponATimeWriter |
