Binary

Binary

A Poem by OnceUponATimeWriter
"

You may call it light or dark but the shadows still remain

"

You may call it love or hate

But what happens when it’s both?

Why does the heart break?

And the relationship stop its growth

Love or hate

Hate or love

It can never quite be separate

No matter how you try

No matter how desperate

You may call it day or night

But what happens in-between?

Have you forgotten the sun’s ray

That makes the twilight beam

Day and night

Twilight and dawn

The sun, the moon, the stars

All of it is for us

All of it is ours

You may call it good or bad

But how do we really know

Can’t something be wrong when it’s right

Or high when it’s low

Good and bad

It’s just your view

The line is always blurred

Because it’s all the same

No matter how the pot is stirred

You may call it light or dark

But the shadows still remain

A secret world hidden away

Though you still see the same

Light and dark

There is no escape

From the shadows that will creep

No matter what you attempt

Around you as you sleep

You may call it black or white

But all I see is grey

The middle of a binary

Keeping extremes at bay

Black or white

Two definite shades

But grey can morph and change

A medium in a world of parallels

A security in a world of strange
