Dining Out

Inspired by Jacobs poem 'Dining In' and a tryst I observed while out for a walk in the country today.

Text messages

leaking in covert

word chains.

 

Distractions,

eyes left

of the centre,

 

as the band

of gold is tarnished

by the dirty hands

of desire.

 

Covert encounters

in lay-bys,

down farm tracks,

by the sea shore,

 

as mother stays home,

lays the table

to feed the kids

and a father

thinks his wife

is enjoying her

poetry reading.

Observing a tryst while out walking in the country??? I sure hope you were birdwatching...and actual birds, at that! I have no time for those that cheat and give in to base desires over respect for wife/husband and family. They deserve all the pain they get. And no woman sits at home reading poetry! Ha! 💛

Yes they were in seperate cars parked off the road and the windows were steamed up. Not the first time I have witnessed such. Oh and she was meant to be at her poetry group but instead met her lover for a liaison! I agree with you but I don't judge Marina. Often loveless, trapped people yearn. There are many reasons other than greed and callous self interest. Many thanks for reading.
