Ache

Ache

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Indeed we hold a flame in our bellies as we seek true satisfaction.

"

Yes we ache and ache and ache,

ah that ache and sweet, sweet pain

of forbidden desire.

Indeed its sweet to feel and feel again

as we both feed that urgent, raging fire

and pray the flames be fanned,

stoked till rising to a burning, blazing pyre

that can be quelled but not extinguished

and our joy can reach no higher.

I completely LOVE this. The fire is not threatening here. It's sacred, and playful and full of life and energy!
This aching is bitter-sweet and tests our impatience time and time again.

Thank you for sending me a read request. Wonderful poem.

Thank you so much for such a lovely review Aysha
When we had tasted pain, been scars. When we yearn for something, so much, we bleed a million words for. Maybe we can find the proper ending? Outstanding poetry shared my friend. You made me think and ponder.

What you can't have you always crave most, so they say. Plenty of heat in this little write John. Penned with passion.

Thank you so much Tania!
Is the forbidden fruit really sweeter? This offering seems to suggest that, saying we pray the flames be fanned higher and higher, until they reach a burning, blazing pyre. I'll have to mull over that one; some fires end up becoming funereal in nature, especially if the other's spouse comes home unexpectedly.

Ah a sage take indeed JTB and one to mull over seriously. many thank yous sir!
the passion that is forbidden is what we seem to want most...what we can't have is most enticing.

'Ache'
John Alexander Mcfadyen,
You chose a good title and of course song to express the meaning behind this poem. 'Ache' is the reminder to our lives even our sense of being for something not quite right. Loneliness is such I think. Humanity is in need of what fills this vacuum too. I suppose the above video is more like a love song but many things are used by people to fill the empty place within the soul.
Nice one and blessings to you.
