Cafe Time

Cafe Time

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

What it is really all about.

"

Where poets meet

to share a sip

from a cup

filled to the brim.

A place on earth

where 'man' can walk

to share 'his' thoughts

within.

New mown grass,

a warming sun,

all lead to this

bright glade,

where rests a pen

and warming words

for every stanza

laid.

but we all come together in inspiration
How I wish this place was actually a cafe, and we could all meet and gather there. Unfortunately, and geographically, its not to be...but I've been here going on eleven years this year, and there's no other venue I'd rather call home.

You always keep me coming back for more, so know that I'll always be here!

When I read these lines "Where poets meet/to share a sip/from a cup" I imagined this plurally and then singularly. I often find that people who enjoy writing or reading poetry are not particularly vocal about it; we could be there at the cafe simultaneously and never know. Even if not, with the picture you painted I visualized that one after another we all go in to sip from the same cup of pensiveness, introspection, and contemplation. A cycle of passing through into the cafe harbor, then setting sail into the marvelous unknown.

I agree John and you are welcome.
Café is truly a beautiful place and unique as well, writers from all parts of the world are here to share their thoughts and enjoy the company of wonderful writers. You have superbly expressed all of our feelings in this winning verse, John.

Glade-laid. Like the finish here.

Nothing quite like a cup of java and a write, outside.

Indeed so Maxwell. Many Thanks.
Having owned two cafe's in my life, this is not my chosen place thong out and write - so many distractions man. I will admit though a cafe is a perfect observation point for getting to know people, :)
