Vacuous Confessions

Insincincerity abounds in many who purport to be religious.

They kneel,

supplication

whispered to cassocked ears

as they plan their next assault on

their prey.

interesting situation I may say I can picture it.

Prayers of the saints. Forgotten. I liked this poem. I could write a epic story from. Sometime I want to enter some people minds and see who they are truly are. Wonderful use of words John. Made the reader think and ponder.

Wow that is a great tale in itself to enter people's minds to find out who they are! Religion is the devil at times so far as misdeeds are concerned, and brainwashing. But at other times, in the right hands it does so much good. Many thank.

I attend church regularly, and although one tries to close one's mind to such things, or perhaps, more generously, to give Christian benefit of doubt, it is often difficult to ignore the signs that shout loud and clear, 'I am here for lip service only, as opposed to true belief.'

On the broader issue of the malaise that haunts much of religion, I can only pray it will come to pass that such things become a thing of the past.

Many people need religion and it provides comfort, reason and purpose. Unfortunately Beccy as we see more and more advances in science the argument supporting Gods gets weaker by the second. Thanks for reading.

Perhaps when science can show us what was before the big bang and that nothingness does indeed exist, I will become a true believer, 'til then, the 'higher hand,' has it for me, especially when I contemplate the quite scientifically pointless beauty of a flower. :))

Yes much better to stay away from religion it has so many questions to answer for the terrible things it has done over the centuries. Me I am a reformed Catholic and avid Darwinian who loves Dan Browns take on matters. Currently reading 'Origin'.

again, i am reminded of my young Catholic days...having knowledge that there were bad people who thought confession was the solution..and yet went out and did the same bad things over and over....
