Intact Symmetry

All things being equal,

we should not exist.

Antiprotons and protons,

in balance

equals zilch.

De nada,

nothing.

No universe

no earth.

Measure for measure,

when they meet,

particles and antiparticles annihilate one another

leaving naught,

no substance,

no matter.

Only asymmetry can save us,

give us life,

make us exist.

But imbalance is nowhere to be found,

magnetism mirrored,

and so back to the drawing board,

even higher-precision measurements

required.

rather than say "Gee guys! I think we might not have it quite right." they say "Oh my goodness people...nature is not quite right" .. go figure ;}
I love this! I would not have paid any attention to CERN at all had you not written "Intact Symmetry" ...I certainly do ascribe to the realities of all those nuclear parts ..however I recall that our understandings of them are formed as a result of .."sounds like that is how it works ... can't think of anything else at the moment" ...and i also love the cartoon of the scientists all bloody and struggling to reach a summit upon which a group of smiling Holy Men have been seated for centuries :)) nice one John ..

Apparently, according to the article I posted the url for, life only exists because of an imbalance between antiprotons and protons. But they simply cannot identify any such deficit lol! Thanks Jacob
