Love's Truth

Love's Truth

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

True love endures.

"

Love's Truth

Our love

is forbidden!

No ordination

upon the altar

of creation.

We are restrained,

shackled,

by circumstance.

The blood

of our regret

runs in tearful

rivers,

yet we would

swim

in that ocean.

Endure the tides,

the swell

of destructive waves,

just to be together.

The ideal love which is often derailed by the p*ss, sh*t and vomit (a friend's phrase not mines) of Life.
Though the world is filled with tales of such conquerers who having fought the good fight get their just rewards - we can live in hope Sir.
Tres eloquent mon amis !! (Thats Del Boy French)

Thank you for the RR.

One would hope so but does not always work that way unfortunately. Thanks Ron.
Forbidden love. A deadly temptation. I liked this poem. I could feel the need and the danger. Thank you John for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome John.
what a great pic by the way! wow! epic poem in so few words and lines ..reminds me of Helen of Troy .. no doubt about it ... such love .. such tragedy ... and i think as well of all the committed relationships that are destroyed in the "affairs" of the world ... the seven year itch i suppose .. and when culminated .. it lasts for so little time ... not always .. but a lot! :( and there is no going back to the wife and kids eh! or husband and kids as the case may be ... your poem has given me much to think about my friend ... and i feel the pain of this too late, true love that is not allowed :(((

Thank you 'E' you have hit the nail on the head as so often you do. Many thank yous!
Being in love is not enough most of the times..
the courage to take steps and to ensure your loved ones feel safe ..

Some time we give our all to the other person and then regret having done that... just because we blame it on the situations...don't you think ?

If we really feel its true and we will ensure we will cross all the Ocean and roads to be with our loved ones...

but most of the times it never happens... we just end up crying and being more bitter with each day..
(that's more like the reality - just my thought process after reading your poem )
