A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

How we fail to heed the warnings.

"

Notions

As a child

I tried not to step on the cracks

in the pavement.

It was a ritual

to keep me feeling safe

and in control.

In adulthood

I disregarded such

immature superstitions,

seeing them as based upon

old wives tales

and poppycock.

So I stepped on every

line in the sand.

Inevitably,

I fell between the cracks.

Ha, ha. You could say that Ron. Many thanks.
The divil lives between the cracks. I bet he was well p**sed off when the pavers were all replaced by tarmac !
Heart makes for a crappy parachute my friend.

Free fall is good.................very....liberating.
Perhaps you made a step in the wrong direction. :) Overcoming does not always lead to a victory I guess. What appears 'not so scary' can sometimes be just plain unwise.

Don't we all step the wrong way from time to time. But only poetry I am bound to say! Many thanks.
