The Brain Washing of Humanity

The Brain Washing of Humanity

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

What is modern life?

"

The Brain Washing of Humanity

I am lost to the subtleties

of mediocrity.

A bland place where

we judge by reality TV,

soap operas and celebrity.

There big tits

fast cars,

over dramatised scripts

and Rolex watches

on the wrists

of Formula One winners

are what we all aspire to.

There the fast pace of media

subterfuge, fake news

and advertising scams

is our intelligence.

We are no longer what we eat

but what we read.

What we imbibe

from a plethora of internet sources.

We are 'tube fed' with the vital sustenance

of our existence.

Propaganda was once

a transparent film,

now it is our life blood

and we suck it up!

We are YOUtube fed, I suppose.
Technology has gone to far into our heads, I think, when we sit in the same room and text each other. I have actually seen this done!Very good work, though.
I am a bit of an antimaterialist, though, I have few possessions...I believe in not having a bunch of stuff I don't need.

Thank you Angel. Yeah stuff is just stuff. We need to get back to basics.
You are right my friend. New world accept views of others and rarely research the truth.
"now it is our life blood
and we suck it up!"
Media controlled all things. Kids need to wake-up and seek the truth. Thank you John for sharing the amazing and worthwhile poetry.

Seems the days when a gentleman's word was his bond and a firm handshake actually meant something!

Yes, modern society has become transparent and fickle, were the bigger the implants and bling, the more respect and gravitas the individual carries??

An astutely penned, poetic observation of today!

Kudos John for pointing out the obvious, like the brave boy among the crowd, who shouted loudly that the emperor was without clothes as all else remained silent!

Scary how the world is shaped and manipulated by what some individuals decide to project in the media, to their advantage. Everyone else seems to be just interested in more money and stuff.
