I listened to Ken Burns just last night tell us that Vietnam is today how we envisioned it when we first thought of it. It is either noble or everything else, depending on your age or your draft no....at the time. Mine was 32 and I was heading for the front lines had I not joined the navy and gone in the opposite direction. Today 42 years since the fall of Saigon....it still hurts to say the word...Vietnam...

Ah but Germany has also changed as has Japan yet for some pain still is raw. My son is in Vietnam teaching English for a few months and my brother has been there and thinks it beautiful. Many thanks for reading and I am sorry it still hurts.
