Ending Assad

Ending Assad

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

What have we come to to allow this?

"

Ending Assad

If I had my way,

Mr al Assad,

I would put a pistol

in your mouth

and pull the trigger,

without compunction.

Some would want you tried

and jailed, to rot in a stinking cell,

or hanged from a lamp post

where your corpse

would swell and smell most foul.

A humiliation to you, and all

who supported your brutal regime,

and a deterrent to those

who would emulate you,

and your insensitive,

inhumane insanity.

But I, I simply want you,

and all traces of you

and your like,

expunged from

this our planet earth.

Lots of emotion here ; I would like to add; we create a better world not by killing anybody, but working for a more just planet, and that includes changing ourselves !

I agree Leslie but poetry IS emotion. Many thanks.
Dear John. Killing Assad. Would fix the problem? In the Batman move. He stated. I killed the bad guys and it don't matter. More bad guys are waiting. Iraq is prime example. President Bush made a stable region fall apart. I don't know what is right or wrong with Syria. The people pay for the greed of the leaders. I pray for better days my friend.

Indeed Ron and one who must be gone!
Very apropos for the times where World War 3 is at hand should matters continue as they are, well penned.

Has Putin committed himself to propping up this despot? It's Serbia and WW1 all over again.
I ouldn't waste a bullet on him. Gas him like he gassed those kiddies.
I feel you John. Well put.

Cheers Tony. Just expressing is all.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
