Sad

Sad

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

When hope dies.

"

Sad

Pearls, clear as fresh rainwater,

salty as the ocean,

gently slide

from wise, artistic eyes

down soft pink cheeks.

They spill over perfect ruby lips

that can no longer smile

as sweetly as they once did,

in the days before

her filigree heart was broken.

Shattered,

into a million memories,

just like the dreams

she once foolishly collected,

like golden butterflies

flitting over a warm meadow

in a misty summer haze.

Now they are dispersed,

an endangered species

cast unto the four winds,

as the putrid pesticide

of broken promises

poisons her earth.

Indeed and many thanks Ron
This was a violin stringing at the depths of life. These words were the tunes, gently digging at my heart. This is a masterpiece in my opinion. Just simple words, gentle.
You have romanticised nature depicting its love and sorrows in an unbelievable way.

Thank you for sharing this. You have put many emotions in very few words.

Amazing use of words and thoughts. You made the reader feel the heartbreak and the sadness. You said a handful in the short poem. Thank you John for sharing the outstanding poetry.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
