It Is PossibleA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenIt Is Possible It is possible to love with fervour and yet be uncertain in the night, as the dark cloak of doubt closes in and shrouds the light. It is there in that unholy sanctuary, that the soul cries out for calm as it recalls just anointment by Catholic holy balm. But original sin has ferocious claws that dig into the thickest skin, talons of sharpest guilt that reflect each morsel of our every sin. And the deception of smoke and mirrors, created by earth bound man, fog even the clearest saintly eyes, simply because religion can.
