Love's Breaths Denied

Love's Breaths Denied

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Still here in my breast lies love!

"

Love's Breaths Denied

I bow to you fair lady

whose pen, whose words,

leave shadows

on the greatest bards.

And who can command

such beauty to mine eyes

with such eloquent,

evocative and exquisite

verse.

You paint in pastel

shades as letters

spill across your pages.

You bring us rainbows

and angels, and unicorns.

You show us fairies and

mists and springtimes,

and the most perfect

of romantic notions.

Yet still you would

wield a sword

and cut me

to the quick.

As you mention the blade, every sword has at least two edges. So on one had you have beauty and on the other the beast. Which edge you select or is presented to you will determine the words you see and feel. To weld your words like a sword to bring great joy or to cut to the quick and cause great pain. A writer's life. Thanks, I may have had to much coffee. LOL

Yes that caffeine will get you! Thanks Willard.
oh, sad, sad, sad... in all the wonders of her words her denial of your love is like a sword cutting through the heart... and still, love still lingers... that is a deep love, indeed... nice pic and love the ES song... well-done, John

Thank you so much FT.
The muse can giveth and the muse can taketh away John, and still all we can do is gawk in awe of them and hope, nay pray, for succour. And once more love lies bleeding in the inkwells of fine romantic poets as yours.
Super write my friend !

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
