Plantings

Plantings

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We yearn to build, to procreate.

"

Plantings

I have a thirst,

still;

after this long

parched earth

has taken its toll.

I hold desire

close to my chest

and see love's embrace

returned

in every shadow

of the earth's passing.

I wish to plough

every furrow,

fill it with the juice

of my seed

until the verdant

planet returns.

For A minute I thought you were going in overdrive to populate this planet John when you said " I wish to plough every furrow and fill it with the juice of my seed" That's a lot of scoring to do John!!! lol A brilliant write my friend

Trust you to go for the literal side Andrew! Must be all that sun and lager lol!
A wish to leave a planet that has gone to wrack and ruin in a pristine way filled with goodness - for generations to enjoy...
an admirable desire my friend ; so well conveyed.

super song choice too. !

Thank you so much PW.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... we all should plant .. i especially like these positive lines after the parching:
"and see love's embrace
returned
in every shadow
of the earth's passing."

those lines brought to mind a fine promise eternal as the earths shadow on the moon .. very inspirational poem for me!

Your poetry is the passion this world needs a little more of...perhaps a whole lot more of!

This made me smile, for I have come to know the passion that resides within that heart of yours. Utterly sensual and provocative.
amazing write!

Thank you MS you are incredibly kind.
That urge to go froth and multiply never really leaves the most primitive parts of ourselves... the desire to sow seeds and harvest the fruits of our labour is so deeply embedded into our beings that it is often the last urge to go before we die... great write, John, of biblical proportions

Hidden Erotica in a beautiful description of procreation. Nicely done and I do like the song. One of my favorites.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
