Barack Obama has stated

that Charleston does not

constitute the 'New Normal'.

But what is normal?

11,000 Americans killed

by guns in 2013?

Only days ago

nine African Americans were shot dead

inside Emanuel African Episcopal Methodist Church

by a deranged young man.

And yet the NRA

refuse to discuss the issue

so close to the massacre.

Dylann Roof is not the only proof

of the profanity

of such a stance.

Fort Hood, Texas,

Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, Arizona,

moviegoers in Aurora, Colorado,

worshippers at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin,

first-graders in Newtown, Connecticut,

and people at a Washington DC naval base.

The President came out strong

he stated that:

"You don’t see this kind of murder,

on this scale,

with this kind of frequency

 in other advanced countries on earth.”

Who will be the next target?

A sad situation. Children raised with war very near. I was raised with the Vietnam war. I joined the Army at seventeen. I didn't know of peace. We teach our kids war, separation and hate. Easy and hard fix. Parent and we must listen. Europe is wiser. Free education and trying to give children hope. USA was born with murder. How many Native Americans had die for land? Abuse of Irish, black, Mexicans and now making the Arabs looked dangerous. USA is based on freedom. Freedom mean. Free thinkers and sometime they are madmen with us too. Hard topic with no answer.

Balkans and Rwanda. Balkan, my medical team came at the end. I saw destruction and people who needed water, food and concern. Rwanda, a medical team. I fed people for three months. I delivered food/water and medicine. Taught me. In some places. Life is consider worthless. This is very sad. Africa was a dangerous place and today some places had not changed.

I was a soldier. Soldier are send on many missions for helping and mainly for medical help. USA military does a lot of good. Just kept quiet.

Gun issue, or mental issue?

I guess the point is that the availability of guns allows those with mental issues easier access to weapons. As Barack Obama said "You don’t see this kind of murder,

This is NOT a constitutional issue it is one of morality.

Your point is well taken. However, even if there were laws passed and the second amendment was abolished, guns will always be available. Advanced countries get guns too. It would be nice if we could just get rid of them all but criminals will always find a way to get them and sell them.

Don't get me wrong Relic. We have people with guns her in the UK but they are rarely used outside of the criminal fraternity.

People here in the U.S sell them (and drugs) on the streets of poor communities they live in all the time. Where there are no jobs for them, they must find ways of bringing in cash. They have no morals and do not care about others.

Think of the smile the shooter had on his face when he walked out of the jail. Now go back to David Burkowitz (The son of sam killer) or the Manson Family girls walking down the halls of the court house arm in arm while singing and laughing. Or Jodi Arias smiling and singing in prison. Or even Ted Bundy who represented himself in court, charismatic, confident and smiling the whole time. Gun were not always used in their crimes, but their demeanor was the same. That's why I mentioned the mental issue.

I have worked in mental health all of my career and it is no excuse for what these people do Relic. That is a red herring. There is evil, there is greed.

But did this person kill merely because guns were available?

I do agree though, there IS evil. And yes, people are greedy. They prey on the elderly and get involved in corruption on a regular basis as though that were their job.
