As For Summer

As For Summer

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

So often disappointing.

"

As For Summer

Where has it gone?

It comes with such promise,

but much like 'love'

it often fails to ignite

and simply fizzles out,

a damp squib

with no bang.

It leaves so quietly

by the back door

through which

the gales of autumn rage.

And we are left

simply wondering,

when will we

feel warm again.

Summer has disappointed me this year, most definitely! It keeps changing in temperature so often and rain pours instead of sun shining. And then it is so brief and abruptly goes. One day it is hot, the next day you are shivering.

And you would have to be quick to do so now Sereena. Many thanks.
Its just not Great Britain without grey moody clouds over castle's lakes and knights searching for the Holy Grail. A nice poem and nice picture lol

Thanks again Andrew!
I use to live in a similar environment. So many years the wish and hope for summer faded with little fanfare. Nice write as you roll on. Hahaha

Of course. Our minds decide when we are done and not us.
Shows how time is fleeting with every passing second. We cannot get enough of every season . It's so short-lived.

So true FCB. Many thanks!
The seasons are fleeting more and more every year. The nostalgia of this seemingly brings it to a pause for me.
