Let Me Know

Let Me Know

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

In Memory of Karina's Love

"

Let Me Know

Let me know

how you feel about our dream;

the one we painted together

in pastel shades,

propped upon today's easel

in the shadow of tomorrow.

The one we whispered

in passionate embraces

that shook the earth

to its core

and left us

in awe of humanity.

The promises described

of awaking together

for ever,

of joining our souls,

welded by the deep

desire for one another's

touch.

Let me know

how you could

simply let it go.

Discard me like

an empty bottle,

as if we didn't matter,

as if we never happened.

To be betrayed, abandoned by the ones we loved and trusted can be a shock and hurt so deep. Time will heal it my friend ! :)

Great write John!

Thank you Sereena!
It sucks to be hurt by someone you never thought would hurt you! ...and it hurts like hell! People come and go around here like yesterday's news...but I'm for real...and I'm staying...and I would never hurt you!

I love the sentiment in this one John. The questions remain unanswered - only one knows the answers or at least thats how it seems - but they may not have the answers either.
This to me, is your most eloquent yet. The images you painted at the beginning and the way you describe them in an another layer as a painting within a painting almost is breath taking. I wish I had written this.

I know I am looking at her photograph now!
You write conjure such beautiful images during the build-up that it's hard not to feel the same loss, that is on the page, as a reader. I don't think I've commented on this before, but I've always liked your line-breaks. You use the form correctly, as in--it'd lose effect translated to prose.
