September SerenadeA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenAs summer slips........................................September Serenade The world keeps on spinning as the sun slips slowly, day by day from our grasp. The earth’s tilt increasing the space between us and solar heat so that we feel the chill as we leave our warm beds. We watch the seasons change from green to brown, knowing that crisp ice white is surely on its way. The crunch of bitter winter will soon lay beneath our feet, nipping at our fingers and our toes just to remind us that we do not rule this planet.
