Dipping

Dipping

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Life can be dangerous.

"

Dipping

I dip,

in and out.

Slowly seduced

into the hypnosis of trust.

Reading words of adoration and angst

written with a hunger to be known

only to a dark and bitter world.

I ink my pen in your blood,

in the memories

that suffocate my heart

of your sweet embrace

and brutal soul.

I plagiarise love,

stealing each sonnet from your deceitful mouth

as if giving the kiss of life

in reverse.

Sucking your last breath

from hate filled lungs

until you are but a vacuum.

Then, when overfull,

I spew in torrents

of serrated bile,

slashing at the very throat

of this disaster.

This is very tough, I have the feeling here it would be good for you to take some distance to this situation,I learned this at work as a social worker, there are times just to cool off..

Powerful language in this one helps the reader feel the angst and heart break, the betrayal, and the pain... creative metaphors sprinkled throughout.. leaves a bitter taste that is pretty intense.. nicely done..

You're a wonderful writer, John...that's good enough for me!
Dark and twisted indeed, sad and angry, now it is my turn to say, a vivid piece, full of vitriol. Where is the romance and the longing? Buried in the hate.

Ouch! John a painful experience in this poem, it has anger and violence of the heart, a strong and forceful assault on our minds and souls, loved it John.

Cheers Richard!
harsh imagery gets the angst across one hundred percent in this "lashing out" poem.
