Vampiric Lust

Vampiric Lust

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Vampiric lust

Poetesses fall from love to hate

in the blink of an eye,

in a single lung filling breath,

at the merest intrusion

into their ink laden thoughts.

Emotions laid bare

by bitter reminiscence,

raw nerves,

so deep in their souls

that they lie buried there forever;

bursting forth like vampires

hot for  bloody revenge

and ready to tear

the flesh from the carcass of man.

So fragile the female psyche

that we must tip toe

over the crypt where they lay in wait,

hot and bothered

in the heat of August.

I love this part in particular John, the last lines bring it all back to the human world in a very tongue in cheek kind of way :)

Like this too, the theme one that does well, the images strong.

Made me chortle Leslie. Boy do you like living on the edge. Many thank yous.
There is no power greater then that of a woman.. We take men to this place at times with no remorse and then some are just the opposite. Still we feed like vampires either way. We are a beautiful yet strange breed..xo ;)

Remind me to give your castle in Transylvania a miss John, I found this one a great read but actually scary too, its good when someone can stir that emotion with a poem, brilliant work John.

Hey be careful the vampires are on the rise!
HA! Your views on women echo mine on men. I shall have to think up a rebuttal. And it should be LIE in wait, third line from the bottom
