I Love You!A Poem by John Alexander McFadyenI Love You! I hardly dare breathe as I stare upon your sleeping face for fear it is simply a dream, and if I awake you will be gone, as a candle snuffed from flickering life. I watch the rise and fall of your perfect breasts, upon which I long to dwell in languid satisfactions. I see sweet exhalation through such gentle lips, from which you spill the very moon and stars upon this your mother earth; and yet you dance with angels. Heaven celebrates your being by sending nature to us all, by giving us the sun, by coating the land in verdant hues of green and painting the sky in azure blue. And I give thanks for each and every breath you take, as if it were my own. I watch in awe, longing for sleep to end and for you to awaken in my life. I yearn for you to enter my conscious yet again, to spend another day in your light. To see the mischief in your smile, the child-like sense of wonder you hold, and the hope and joy you give this tortured world. 04/08/14 © 2014 John Alexander McFadyenReviews
