RebornA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenReborn I have found a new poet. He was inside me all theses sad and sorry years, but afraid. Afraid to open up his lungs and sing, to open up his heart and spill tears of words across the virgin parchment sheets of life; lest his weakness be exposed by that original sin staining his once pure soul. So he was afraid to open up his eyes and face the world in all its magnificent sharp magnification and blunt and selfish hatred. To chance the inevitable ridicule of those shallow, little people who have learned to scoff and demean others and feed their own conceited confidence tricks through the put down and the snide remark. But now I stand foursquare, my squat pen flowing over velum sheets, an oak shielding my sight from the harshest glare, as I breathe easily the fragrances of life and the piety of living in the glow of your sweet nature. 08/09/13 © 2013 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
