Chemistry

I doubt I will ever love

so well again

or feel the depth of love

you showed for me.

I could live a billion years

and never repair

the hole your loss

has torn in my soul.

A gap through which whistles

a brittle, frozen gale,

leaving me so cold,

so truly bereft.

I search for reason

with these frozen hands

but only questions

beg to respond.

And only you will know

why you ended it

when we were

the purest chemistry?

Chemistry...without it, there is no relationship that can last. The deep melancholy and sadness in this write is well expressed.
