Desolate

I slip in silence

beneath this wave of sadness

to asphyxiate at your leisure.

The pain you chose to inflict

upon my soul

holds me down at your pleasure.

I came to you to offer grace,

to hold you close,

to make you safe.

To raise your subdued spirit

to the sun.

Yet here I am

a broken soul

an empty and hungry waif

starved of all hope.

The pain on this page is raw John, and unfortunately it happens to us all. And sadly, it has happened to you. :( Sorry, dude - Keep strong.

I know. Thank you Noodles!
This speaks of personal sacrifices, of pain, of making compromises to overcome conflictions, of commitment, an interesting verse.

Thank you Sheema.
The pain on this page is palpable, I know there are no words of comfort when love is lost...I take issue with her 'pleasure' I doubt that, it just feels that way at the moment John, stay strong, and keep penning your feelings, it's all that you can do right now, hopefully in time your heart will heal. x

I know so I will leave her alone.
At times the heart does starve, pleading for nourishment which doesn't seem to come. The dark bare cupboard reflects images of where our mind now roams. John, my sad friend, what can I say, your poetry slowly crawls from your aching heart and into ours. Chin up my friend, times will eventually get better.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
