Echoes of Silence

The echoes of your silence

reverberate off empty walls

to deafen my ears

like the oceans roar

or the howling wind.

And like a tsunami

or the vicious spin

of the Midwest tornado

it overwhelms me

and drags me

into its raging swell

till I am washed away,

fractured

and drowned.

Couldn't agree more with Jack, this one's great. I love poetry in metaphors, especially when they still end up profound and beautiful like this one. I also tried to write this way once, but I was plowed over by the mere attempt.
Thanks for sharing this lovely piece!

Thank you Chrissy
Amazing John, It's unbelievable how silence can be so affecting....seems louder than words spoken most definitely. Deafening silence, that's a special of ours, only cause we know how much you guys hate it....if I'm yelling you still have a chance, once I go mute, it's all over. Nice one!

Thanks my Lady!
Wow, this one blew me away (no pun intended). I once tried to write a poem like this, but figured...who the hell can write in this kind of weather? :) (sorry man). This was great John. The emotions were pure and right up front.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
