Screaming at my Avitar

Screaming at my Avitar

You psychotic intrusion!

How dare you infiltrate

the privacy of my mind,

violate my thoughts

with your vile vitriol?

You think you can control me?

You see me so weak,

susceptible to your command?

I have fallen to your orders

too many times before and

have rued each episode

you have put me through,

until so broken in spirit and soul

only witch doctors

with the toxic potion

Clozaril

could save me.

Now I tell you

the tables  are turned,

the worm has turned

now it’s time to turn you off!

This poem is based on a recent research study which shows that psychotic people can learn to challenge their voices by using avitars>

Interesting. When you say "challenge" their voices, do you mean they can control them, to a certain extent? Because that is fascinating. Truly. Great stuff, John. Thanks for making me think. I almost always love it when that happens! ;-) And, obviously, goes without saying, the piece is magnificent. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Yes it is a fascinating study. Thank you Kirstin.
A fascinating idea, I can see how it could help as its all about taking back control. Sometimes we just have to shout back . You captured that sense of seizing power here.

Hi Claire check out the web page I have given. I circulated it to Tapiwa! Its real! Good to see you .. read more
I work roughly in this direction, and indeed true, psychotic patients ( this is what I learned ) must not be damaged with reality, but in a vebal-communictative sense be respected and worked with..

So what do you do then Leslie? Thank you.
Wow, that is absolutely incredible. Thank you for enlightening us. Imagine using technology instead of pharmaceutical...that would be wonderful progress.

Thank you Raven.
You know, I have never had an avatar, I think I will run over to the pet store and pick one up so I can see what all of the fuss is about. Good one John.
