First Love

First Love

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

First Love

The shadows on my wall

that were my haunting

have flickered and died,

been quelled

by the gentling of your heart.

The screams in my skull

that tortured my mind

have fallen silent,

calmed by the

soothing of your sweet kiss.

The devils that tore at my soul

till my sanity drained

have been cast out,

dispersed by

the breeze of your soft breaths.

So here I lay in rebirth

open and naked in my deliverance

knowing for the first time

ever in my life,

I really understand

the meaning of love.

Thank you Sheema you are very kind.
Excellent work John. I think this is something everyone can relate to, especially me. My favorite thing about your poems is you have such versatility with your subjects. You can switch from a depressing topic to something like this, and do both phenomenally. That's a trait I admire greatly.

Thank you Keith for such a supportive review.
If we're really lucky we can find that person that elevates us to be the best we can be, apparently you've had the privilege John. Lovely.

Oh dear love.

The last line makes me lost in thought so forgive me if I blabber here and say something that I doubt would make sense at all. Well, since I don't know what love really means maybe I was kinda confused still...
But nonetheless the last line really hits me... and I was asking myself if I'll feel that someday or if I'll question myself with the same question someday...

I see, that's a good thing then
I can feel the pain and see it melting away as the relationship evolves, until finally... sweet oblivion. Simply beautiful.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
