Speak to Me!

Speak to Me!

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Speak to Me!

There is no poetry in your silence;

no salvation.

Empty phrases

fill my tortured thoughts,

brutal vacant spaces

where my heart had strayed

and left a treacle trail.

So I live in this fragile,

vacuous bubble,

a place between life and death,

where the carrot of love

once dangled before my ravenous mouth,

and my salivation was guaranteed.

The carrot dangled in front of us, enough to keep us going through life.

Until removed! Thanks AHP
I really love your poems, Mr. McFayden. There's just something there that makes it powerful enough and meaningful to read. You know, something that actually means a lot on someone (:
Good job and nice one!

Ha! Thanks Allan. Hope you have been able to read all the pieces for tomorrow?
I love that first line, I kind of giggled when I got to 'carrot of love'. I get it dangling within your grasp, for such a torturous message I just thought it an odd reference.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
