What We Seek

What We Seek

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

What We Seek

We pen romance in pages of delight,

our pathetic pathos feels so just

to bathe our tortured, convicted hearts

and leave the spirit of pure hope

as we depart to our place of destiny.

We paint a picture of belief

a thing of natural beauty,

of colours inked upon

parchment skin

that sing a melody

of peace and trust and

ease our passage to the skies.

There we seek angels

in siren’s garb

to seep our manhood deep

in the nectar of Venus true

and leave us to savour

the blood of our enemies.

Great job John! Your pros speak brilliance and they flow eloquently. You definitely have a strong command of the English language and you know how to use it to your advantage. I love stories/poems that not only use their story to suck me in, but also the beauty of their words which is exactly what you have done. Excellent work my friend!

Poets do paint larger than life pictures of their grief but while doing so, they impart so much beauty and leave behind such a shining legacy of fine, exquisite literature. Grief turns to Art.

"There we seek angels
in siren’s garb

to seep our manhood deep
in the nectar of Venus true
and leave us to savour
the blood of our enemies"

- These beautiful lines just go on to show a poet's magical world full of the most awesome dreams! ....After all, sometimes it's all that we really have...

Thanks John, for this superb poetry!

There's more to you than writing erotica. Lot more and you add bits to every new work.

This is something I would expect at the beginning of a movie, a movie that has swords, horses, boats, young war hardened heroes that would never claim the title, because it's not about them, but about the motherland. Very nice!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
