Judgement Day

Judgement Day

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Judgement Day

His mind moved

as devils sinned,

all tortured f*****s

in a witches brew

of stagnant faeces.

A thick broth

of errant nature

in which the mire

of man had sunk.

Spells cast upon an earth

so broken and downtrodden

that it must end

all hope of Eden’s promises.

All human life extinct,

snuffed out

like a candle in the winds

of savage fate.

Broken hearts; tormented souls

cast adrift upon ethereal

swirling, misty clouds,

where gods do battle

over our remains.

Remains of the day lol
"Where gods do battle over our remains" makes me feel so insignificant, as though I am merely collateral damage in the Master Plan. Great work here, John.

My pleasure, John...and thank you ;-)
This is so dark
I could believe these lines originated
in the scene where three witches brewed
or, more likely, originated in the soul of a demon
or a warlock
who hated the creation of man
and would celebrate its demise.
Like how you handled this

Fun illy enough I did have a thought of witches when I was writing. Thank you SW
Simon lives. ;)

This is dark, bleak, tragic, and not my cup of tea, although I can appreciate the skill and craft you have put into it. In that light, it is brilliant. I prefer your romantic side John, but that is my personal preference only.

Yeah but It is one piece that did not spring from feelings but just words and thoughts in my head
In a black mood today by any chance? A grim glimpse of the future here, better enjoy ourselves before this happens!

This poem reminded me of The 'Revelations'
The swamp of stagnant feaces is just too deep and the cleanup is inevitable.
