Helen

Helen

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Helen

She stood before

the burning walls

of Troy

and wept at

her own destructive power.

How could a single

female heart and face unleash

such wanton destruction.

But in her

bitter tear

was only hollow

sadness

as she revelled

in her complete

and utter

captivation of man.

slightly baffling, yet enjoyable, I notice you never seem to refrain from including your own opinions and biases, I can tell you have studied quite a bit and thrive on the classical history

Thank you Quinn, thank you!
Would be far more noble to be the kind of woman to make the man, than the kind to break him.

aka Helen? who, ? me? LOL, uh uh, not me!!
this is really nice. It kind of reminds me the way of how william shatner talks in star trek. I like the way you put the date at the end of the poem. I don't know why but it really catches my eye. Very nice mate :)
