The  Completeness of your Love

The Completeness of your Love

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

The Completeness of Your Love

Your head, soft hair, upon my chest;
Tears run freely to burn in acid sadness at my naked skin.
Your words tell me it's over;
Ended,
But the depth of your sweet sorrow
And the warmth of the wetness tell another tale.
I feel the cut of those words so blunted by your sobs
And I realise the desperation that you feel
And the completeness of your love.
