Blessed You With My Love

Blessed You With My Love

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Blessed you with my Love

I was angry and I was hurt
That you could fear the worst,
And trust between us did not seem to exist.
Then I looked into your eyes
And saw the fear of loss that fuelled your envy.
A morbid fear borne from the pity of self-doubt,
And I could no longer be angry,
For I understood.
What seemed unforgivable to me
And cut me to the quick,
Was a desperate expression of your love.
So with no guilt to shield, I yielded,
And forgave and blessed you with my love.
