He's Old News Now

He's Old News Now

A Poem by AiH

I can't remember his eyes anymore
when at one time they were all I could see
I cant feel his mouth anymore
when at one time they were all I could taste
I can't feel his hands anymore
when at one time they were all I could perceive

and now instead of his dark brown eyes
I see yours -
piercing blue

instead of his passive kiss
I taste yours-
claiming

instead of his tentative touch,
I feel yours-
confident

there was a point when I'd didn't think I would ever feel again
for anyone
or anything
including myself

but now your scent is all i smell
your mouth is all i crave
your touch is all i need
and i find him drifting farther and farther
away from me

nothing more to me than battle scars

he's a sunken ship

a message in a bottle

a boy from another life

I like this because it's clear, precise and moving at the same time.

Well done. :)
