Drowning City

Drowning City

A Poem by AiH

The rain fell hard against my skin
Soaking itself into my crevices and coating my landscape
There is a familiarity in the wind
It's lonely howls echoing loud
Mimicking your laughter against my neck

So when the roads flood
to drown out the pavements below
and all the streets around are closed
I will be there with a ship
to navigate your waters.
