leap of faith

leap of faith

A Poem by PasDeChat

I am here and there you are waiting

My heart says do it, my mind is frightened

you say you will be there, your words I am devouring

I close my eyes and take a deep breath and it empowers me

Full force I am running, trusting yet again

I jump with all my might as your gaze wanders

Past you I fly, heart broken and falling

As I hit the floor face first, what hurts most?

The scars are not visible to the naked  eye

Another small piece of me has died

The sinking feeling in my chest

Is my heart finding a new place to rest

Next time I will rememebr not to leap

I will stay planted firmly on my feet

Trusting never again

Falling is not in the plan

I leave, head reminding the heart it was right,  yet again

Heart resting in its new hiding place, as i feel damned

Gosh I hope you don't truly feel damned!! I am assuming your subject meaning is of the religious kind, if so then a leap of faith would stop the process of damnation.
I couldn't quite grasp the gist of this, it is a little obscure to me...hope I'm correct in identifying it?
